My professional pathway.
Change takes time. I believe healing begins by slowing down and creating a space where you feel safe enough to explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences at your own pace. Together, we’ll gently notice what comes up, tend to moments of discomfort with care, and stay curious about what brings you clarity, strength, and meaning.
I hold a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Edgewood College and approach my work through a trauma-informed, relational lens. I consider how relationships, family systems, culture, and your environment shape how you move through the world and influence your sense of self. My goal is to support you in reconnecting with who you are and what feels most authentic to you.
My work is also shaped by lived experience. I spent 17 years working for the same company in roles such as Sales and Marketing Director, where I experienced firsthand the demands, pressure, and stress that can come with long-term professional responsibility. Family is deeply important to me, and I understand the complexity that can come with it. I’ve had to do my own healing work to grow as a person, partner, and parent, and I know that this work is ongoing, nonlinear, and human.
At the core of my practice is presence, curiosity, and trust—honoring your pace, your story, and your capacity for growth.

Heather Fortune, MFT-IT
Fortune Family Therapy is a place for everyone—kids, teens, adults, and families—to come as they are and grow into who they want to be.
We believe that healing happens through connecting with ourselves and each other. Our approach mixes traditional talk therapy with hands-on methods. We’re all about being in tune with our bodies, using techniques like Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), movement, breath, and real-life experiences to help you make meaningful changes.
